ZEELAND — One of Zeeland's Main Avenue businesses is going through changes.

Full Circle Creations, purchased by Cassandra Butters and Danielle Binder in mid-2021, will change its name to Binder and Co. The store is also undergoing renovations as ownership is consolidated to Binder.

"(Butters) has some big life changes coming, so I took over the store 100 percent," Binder said. "Her items will still be here, for customers who love her products. But I'm by myself now.

"Right now, the store has a very unique concept and layout, where things aren't grouped together. I'm hoping to group things together by type, like candles and bath items, rather than by vendors themselves."

The store at 139 E. Main Ave. opened in June 2020, and was first owned by Stacey Lamberts, also the owner of SNS Dips. The name-change is unique to Binder's existing business.

"I started my own business in 2017 after my son was born," she told The Sentinel last year. "I started by making diaper covers and it expanded from there."

In the wake of COVID-19, when Binder was laid off, she decided to focus her energy on vending — which ultimately led to her and Butters' purchase of Full Circle.

The store will host a grand reopening Saturday, March 26, to showcase the renovations.

"I'm hoping to brighten things up and just make things more elevated and a little more boutique," Binder said. "As for the name, I travel to shows with that name and that's how I got started, so it's just easier to combine everything together."

Binder and Co. will continue to partner with the same small businesses. The grand reopening will host three vendors that aren't usually in-store: Bliss Bakery of Hamilton, Zeeland Nutrition and Teddy Bear Mobile — similar to a portable, small-scale Build-a-Bear.

"We'll also have raffle tickets and our vendors have donated items for giveaway bags to our first 20 customers," Binder said. "We're just really excited to continue to support the small business community."

To keep the business running, Binder continues to work a part-time job at a local dental office. Binder and Co. hours shift accordingly, and can be found online at facebook.com/FullCircleCreations.MI.

As a downtown business owner, Binder is excited for the changes coming to Zeeland, including plans for a mid-block passageway connecting the parking lot north of Main Avenue with shops and restaurants and the announcement of a new restaurant.

"The passageway will be so nice and convenient for people to stroll downtown," Binder said. "We want to see downtown Zeeland looking like downtown Holland, and right now it's having a hard time.

"We want to see people walking and busy. That new restaurant coming in would be wonderful. When we lost Public, it was sad. I hear from my customers they want more restaurants and shopping. That would be great."
