Diapers, baby clothes among items that are tax-free in Florida starting July 1 – Action News Jax

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Friday marks the beginning of five sales tax holidays in Florida, making a wide variety of items tax-exempt.

Parents and grandparents will find some relief with sales tax holidays for diapers and baby clothes. Homeowners looking to harden their homes will have two years to get tax-exempt impact-resistant doors, windows, and garage doors.

Here are the five tax holidays set to begin and what you need to know about them:

Freedom Week Sales Tax Holiday, July 1-7, 2022: Recreation and outdoor supplies and admissions to entertainment and cultural events will be exempt from tax during the Freedom Week Sales Tax Holiday, according to the Florida Department of Revenue. The sales tax holiday runs from Friday, July 1 through Thursday, July 7. Click here for more information.

Children’s Diapers Sales Tax Exemption, July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023: Single-use diapers, reusable diapers, and reusable diaper inserts for children will be tax-exempt for an entire year beginning Friday, July 1, 2022 through Friday, June 30, 2023. Click here for more information.

Baby and Toddler Clothing Sales Tax Exemption, July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023: Clothing, apparel, and shoes primarily intended for children ages 5 and younger will also be exempt from tax for an entire year from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023. Click here for more information.

ENERGY STAR® Appliances Sales Tax Exemption, July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023: Certain ENERGY STAR® appliances will be tax-free for a year beginning July 1, 2022. For a complete list of qualifying appliances, click here.
