Desperately Seeking Diapers: Livingston Mom Is Accepting Donations | Livingston, NJ Patch

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston mom Samantha Wohl understands the importance of Diaper Need Awareness Week, which runs from this coming Monday (Sept. 24) through Oct. 2.

While there are programs to help the poorest families in the United States get help with food, necessities like diapers and baby wipes may be harder to come by.

Wohl is a member of the Young Professional Ambassadors Council at Moms Helping Moms, a New Jersey baby supply, period supply and diaper bank.

She will have a diaper donation bin at St. Peter’s Nursery School in Essex Fells during school hours, and she'll also accept donations at her Livingston home (her email address for coordinating is samantha.a.wohl@gmail.com).

Since the Jewish High Holiday of Rosh Hashanah takes place from Sunday at sundown through Tuesday, the week has been extended.

Right now, the group is most in need of size 5 and 6 diapers, but is happy to accept many other needed items (see the flyer directly below).

"In addition to diapers," she noted, "items include wipes, unexpired formula, new/unopened baby hygiene items, gently used or new clothing size newborn to 5T, children’s books, period products."

"By working together, we can help ensure that all babies in our surrounding communities have access to clean diapers and other basic necessities required for them to thrive and reach their full potential," Wohl said this week. "I would love to invite the Livingston community to get involved."

Drop items off at St. Peter's Nursery School, 271 Roseland Ave, Essex Fells, NJ, any time next week.
