Des Plaines resident Michael Cruz, 36, of 1857 Pine St., has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance after police responded on Wednesday, May 25 at 1:25 p.m. to a report of a retail theft in the 1300 block of Miner Street, downtown.

The victim, said police, gave a description of the subject as a white/Hispanic male wearing a black t-shirt and carrying a box of diapers.
