Farmer beneficiaries from the Municipality of Baggao, together with officials from the Municipality of Baggao, Cagayan provincial government, Department of Agriculture (DA), and stakeholder partners, celebrate the success of the Yellow Corn Project through a harvest festival on  April 28, 2022 in Baggao, Cagayan, organized by Cargill Philippines and Save the Children Philippines.

Launched in October 2021, the Yellow Corn project is a six-month inclusive business pilot project by Cargill Philippines and Save the Children Philippines that provides training on good agricultural practices, farming inputs, post-harvest support, and integration of farmers directly into the animal feed value chain. Since then, 430 farmer families have benefitted from the project and showcased a higher-level of agricultural process and improved livelihood together with their school children.

Highlights of the event included the unveiling of a visibility marker of the flatbed dryer that was repaired through the project and the official announcement of Sto. Domingo Multi-Purpose Cooperative as an accredited supplier of yellow corn to Cargill.

Raising Good Guys of her own

Motherhood is both an exciting and challenging journey. As we celebrate Mother’s Day, moms like SMDC Trees Residences homeowner Mardie Gonzales, a work-from-home web developer and first-time mother, shares her journey through the challenges of the pandemic.

Then pregnant Mardie and her husband moved to SMDC Trees in February 2020, feeling unbearably isolated. “Thankfully, the community that SMDC built has helped me cope with these emotions and navigate motherhood as seamlessly as possible…I fell in love because it is quiet and beautiful—more like a resort.”

As a brand that takes pride in delivering so much more for its residents, SMDC continues to create happy, healthy, and safe communities, leading to a conducive living environment where one can thrive and flourish. With its premium amenities that allow connectedness and a sense of community; the accessibility of their properties to allow the residents to have more time for things that are most important to them; and the investment opportunities that their properties create, SMDC has everything that the starting families are looking for.

“I truly believe that there are a lot of opportunities for you to raise a good kid in this community,” added Mardie.

More than just providing for the needs of the members of their communities, SMDC also advocates for sustainability to mitigate the effects of rapid urbanization. It is evident in how they incorporate thoughtful design and construction processes and an efficient local supply chain in all their residential developments.

MAKUKU baby diapers now in the Philippines

Say hello to your baby’s new best friend and say goodbye to the baby’s unwanted bum rashes, irritation, and diaper leakage. The MAKUKU Slim and Comfort series diapers are now available in the Philippines.

MAKUKU, founded in China in 2020, is a brand that is known for producing high quality and durable baby diapers.

The Philippines is a country with high humidity and finding the right diaper which gives ultimate comfort is a struggle for parents. MAKUKU created its Slim and Comfort series diapers to address this problem.

Soft, Skin-Friendly with Vitamin C According to research, the baby’s skin pH level is close to neutral but quickly changes to acidic when the diaper is left too long with urine. This is one of the main reasons why babies get diaper rash after peeing. MAKUKU SLIM series diaper creates a new environment of Vitamin C weak acid incorporated into the inner surface of the diaper to protect the baby’s skin. Furthermore, these diapers were made of silk peptide protein with an improved long-lasting, antibacterial formula to prevent the forming of micro bacteria.

MAKUKU diaper is made out of 4th generation diaper core technology with dual-core super absorption polymers (SAP) and as thin as 0.2mm– making it one of the lightest diapers in the market. The MAKUKU Slim and Comfort series has an ultra-thin suspension core and fully imported water-absorbing polymer structure product technology. The height of the leak-proof sides is up to 4 cm, which can effectively prevent side leakage. It provides quick-absorption of liquid which avoids skin irritation. Filipino Mommies no longer need to check and monitor their babies for any leakage after a couple of hours.
