Iredell County organization works with local businesses to provide diapers for struggling families
IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — As costs continue for rise for almost all goods in the country, buying diapers is becoming a burden for many families. One organization in Iredell County is making an effort to help.
The organization Pampered Pantry held a diaper drive this month, with help from several local businesses serving as drop-off locations.
Lisa Familio oversees the pantry, and she told reporter Almiya White that one in three families struggle to afford a supply of diapers.
“They were just finding themselves vulnerable and needing to make choices between paying rent, buying medicine, or buying diapers,” Familio said.
>> In the video at the top of the page, we talk to the families who benefit from Pampered Pantry’s work and from the businesses who have offered their space to help the community.
