MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Morris Township is holding a diaper drive throughout September to assist families across the country who are unable to afford items such as diapers, wipes, formula and other necessities.

Items can be dropped off at the Morris Township Police Department headquarters, which is located at 49 Woodland Avenue in Morristown.

The diaper drive follows the announcement by Acting Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin of guidelines designed to make policing a more appealing career path for women by protecting the workplace rights of pregnant and breastfeeding officers at law enforcement agencies across the state.

"Morris Township prides itself on being proactive and inclusive and we have had a pregnancy policy in place for over 15 years. What is even more impressive is that our policy helped set the tone for these new, established guidelines," police said.

The drive is being held in support of the Moms Helping Moms Foundation, a diaper, and baby supply bank in New Jersey. "We collect and distribute baby essentials to low-income families in NJ so that they can give their children a safe, happy and healthy start," the foundation said.

Based on the needs expressed by the local community, Morris Township is collecting the following supplies:

Donors have until Oct. 2 to drop off any donation items at the police station. "Our community is always so extremely generous and we are excited to see how our continued partnership can help those in need," police said.
